T-1 Day

Today I spent the day getting to my starting point, Florence,  Oregon.  I took a rental car to Eugene then a Taxi to Florence.   Ed of Oregon taxi was great and got me and all my gear here quickly.  We talked most of the way and it turned out his girlfriend was trying to convince him to WALK across the country with her.

There was only one minor glitch in my trip up here. I left a camera charging cable behind.  While doing some last minute sorting I found I had two extra cables, or so I thought,  and set them aside in the garage. I also pulled out a couple of items, including an aluminum pan and spare tire, to save some weight and space.

Tonight I am sleeping at a hiker/biker camp at the port of Siuslaw. Its a bit cold but is very scenic.  Below is a shot of the view.

Tomorrow I start riding and the goal for the day is to ride back to Eugene,  which makes the taxi ride seem a bit counter productive.
